About Leadframe

The leadframe used in semiconductors is an important component that connects the semiconductor chip to the electronic circuit. It is primarily used in the packaging of semiconductor devices, providing protection for the chip and enabling electrical connections with the external circuit.

The leadframe is typically made of metal(usually copper or iron alloy) and serves the following functions:

Electrical Connection: The leads of the leadframe connect to the pads of the semiconductor chip, allowing electrical signals to be transmitted to the external circuit.

Structural Support: The leadframe serves to secure and protect the semiconductor chip. It supports the chip during the packaging process, ensuring it is not damaged.

Heat Dissipation: The leadframe is made of metal with good thermal conductivity, helping to dissipate heat generated by the semiconductor chip during operation.

The leadframe is a crucial part of the semiconductor packaging process, connecting the chip to the external circuit, and comes in various shapes and sizes.

*I received a semiconductor leadframe from my father, who was an engineer, and have expanded its use into a new realm of metalworking. The intricate metal parts I often saw in his workshop now serve as a significant source of inspiration for my work. By incorporating the mechanical beauty and precision of the leadframe into my designs for objects and jewelry, I create unique pieces where technology and art intersect.

About Keum-boo

Keum-boo is a traditional Korean metalworking technique that dates back centuries. It was originally used to adorn precious objects and jewelry, highlighting the luxurious and intricate nature of Korean craftsmanship. This timeless technique continues to inspire modern designs while preserving its cultural heritage.

Durability
Keum-boo is a delicate technique, and the thin gold sheet applied can wear off over time. It can peel or be scratched with regular use, but with proper care and attention, its beauty can be maintained for a long time.

Gold Reapplication
If the gold sheet wears off or gets damaged, it can be reapplied by an expert.

Sensitivity
Keum-boo gold sheet is sensitive to temperature, humidity, and chemicals due to its bond with other metals. Exposure to high temperatures or harsh chemicals can damage the gold foil, so care should be taken.

Natural Changes
Over time, Keum-boo jewelry may change naturally, and many people appreciate these changes as part of the charm. The gold sheet may alter in color or develop unique characteristics that reflect the wearer’s personal use, adding to the piece's beauty and character.

Product Care

Each piece of our jewelry is hand-made and therefore delicate. Please use appropriate care to enjoy our jewelry for a long time. The silver color of 925 sterling silver remains shiny and glamorous for many years, but over time, natural processes cause oxidation and tarnishing. In addition to silver, we also use gold and Keum-boo (24k gold foil) in some pieces, each requiring special care to maintain their beauty. The following tips will help preserve the shine and longevity of all your jewelry, whether it’s silver, gold, or Keum-boo.
